There never seems to be a dull moment in the Edgar household--especially when you have an extremely high-energy toddler on your hands! Since the day Wyatt was born, he has LOVED music. He spent his very early days dancing with his daddy to the tunes of Willie Nelson, Randy Travis, and George Strait. Even though he's never lived in Oklahoma, there is definitely a little bit of cowboy in our Wyatt.

With music comes dancing. Oh, how Wyatt loves to dance! Here are some pictures of our recent family hodown, in which the Dixie Chicks had Eric and Wyatt dancing their favorite dance: the two-step!

Wyatt LOVES to wear his daddy's cowboy hat, and has apparently learned a new trick which involves standing on his head with no hands. Oh, how proud we are of him!

Happy 1-Month Birthday, Avery!

Miraculously, Little Miss Avery has survived a full month in the Edgar household without being smothered or crushed by her very curious and loving big brother Wyatt. She has even withstood a few minor pinches as well as an unintentional kick to the head, so I guess that means she's tough enough to be an Edgar!

The past month with Avery has been much better than we could have ever expected. I was terrified to have two children, but she has been such an easy and laid-back baby. She is already sleeping at least 6 hours per night, eats well, and has the most kissable cheeks ever! We feel incredibly blessed to have two healthy and beautiful children to complete our family. Here are a couple of her one-month pictures.

So, how is Wyatt handling the new addition the family, you ask? He's doing as well as can be expected for a 22-month old who has just had his home invaded by a helpless, high-maintenance little creature. Poor guy!

In all seriousness, he absolutely adores his "sissy" and always refers to her as "Baby Afwee". Although his affection for her is so cute, it also means that he takes advantage of every opportunity to climb on top of her to give kisses when no one is looking, which means I have to be extra careful about setting her down ANYWHERE!
He also really likes to climb on the changing table and talk to her while I change her diaper. The other day he leaned over her and licked her right between the eyes! It was so funny! I thought, "Awww...the pestering has already begun!"

He does seem to act out a bit for extra attention, and can usually be found stealing and sucking on one of Avery's pacifiers, climbing in her crib, and playing in her car seat. It's amazing that he finds so much joy in playing with the very things he absolutely hated as a baby!!

Overall though, I think he's adjusting just fine. It has really been a good opportunity for him to play more independently by engaging in more imaginative play and exploring the bugs of the backyard!

It is an adjustment period for all of us, but we couldn't be happier!

Welcome to our blog!

So, now that we have two kiddos and live so far away from our family and friends, we've decided to get with the program by creating this blog for our family. Our intention is to involve our most favorite people in all of the important events of our lives, as well as the completely random day-to-day activities that keep us entertained and enjoying life to the fullest.

For the most part, I imagine that I (Catrina) will be creating most of the blog entries, but hopefully Eric will put in his two cents every once in a while (and we all know how entertaining that might be! :-)) And since our lives have become a bit more hectic with the birth of our baby girl, Avery, these lovely posts will most likely be written while enjoying a nice glass of wine after the kids are safely tucked away in their beds--hence the meaning behind the name of our blog! If you feel so inclined, please don't hesitate to join us and break out your own favorite glass of wine or beer and relax while reading the latest and greatest of the Edgar family. That way, our lives may appear to be much more exciting!! In all seriousness, we hope you enjoy our site. We'll try to update it as often as possible!

My Wine Personality:
For the most part I’m a chardonnay, as I consider myself to exhibit a somewhat sunny and mellow disposition (most of the time), but because I find a tremendous amount of joy out of showering my two kids with hugs and kisses, I also possess the subtle sweetness often found in a riesling. But don’t be fooled. I love a great outdoor adventure and am willing to try anything once. This occasional display of boldness is thought to match that of a cabernet, whereas my appreciation for nature suggests that I have an earthy component to my personality—very characteristic of a merlot.
