BIG SHOT of the week
Saturday, October 4, 2008

Now that the fall season is in full swing, I thought it appropriate to post a beautiful display of autumn color captured by Eric while in Salt Lake City a couple of weeks ago. There are parts of Oregon that are absolutely breathtaking in the fall, but I'm not sure they compare to the brilliant shades of color found in this part of the country.

This photo was taken in the late afternoon at the top of Guardsman Pass in the Wasatch National Forest.

Wine Selection:
Screw Kappa Napa (SKN) Old Vine Zinfandel
Personal Rating: **Fair**
Comments: While I like the cabernet, I'm not a huge fan of the zinfandel.

Blogger Rachel had this to say:

That's right, score one for Utah - woo hoo! I love driving through the canyon on the way to my parents' house up in northern Utah in the fall. The colors are fantastic. One of these days I might actually take a picture, hmmm...

My Wine Personality:
For the most part I’m a chardonnay, as I consider myself to exhibit a somewhat sunny and mellow disposition (most of the time), but because I find a tremendous amount of joy out of showering my two kids with hugs and kisses, I also possess the subtle sweetness often found in a riesling. But don’t be fooled. I love a great outdoor adventure and am willing to try anything once. This occasional display of boldness is thought to match that of a cabernet, whereas my appreciation for nature suggests that I have an earthy component to my personality—very characteristic of a merlot.
